Dimethyl Carbonate is a colorless liquid with a mild odor and is utilized as an environmentally friendly substitute for dimethyl sulfate and phosgene (in both methylation and carboxylation reactions). Dimethyl Carbonate is non-toxic, biodegradable, exhibits minimal reactivity, and exempt from U.S. VOCs restrictions. It can be used as both a reagent and solvent.
